During British Summer Time (BST), civil time in the United Kingdom is advanced one hour forward of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT), so that evenings have more daylight and mornings have less.[1][2]BST begins at 01:00 GMT on the last Sunday of March and ends at 01:00 GMT on the last Sunday of October; since 22 October 1995 the times of commencement and cessation of daylight saving time across the European Union are aligned[3] - for instance Central European Summer Time begins and ends on the same Sundays at exactly the same time (that is, 02:00 CET).
In 2013 BST began on 31 March and will end on 27 October.[4]
Perhaps you should read my post No 7 above again and try and understand that we, the users, should not have to adjust our "profiles" (which we can't do ourselves anyhow) in order to display the correct UK time - whether it's BST or GMT - of a posting.
This has happened before and Martin and/or Tom sorted it out without having to change anyone's "profile".
Can more UK users please see whether the time of their posting as displayed in the forum is the same as the actual time they made the post?
Sorry that I came across as snarky.
Thank you Tom for seeing the issue and for making it right for those of us in the UK.
Normally when one joins a discussion board you are asked what timezone you're in. And the forum software does the rest in displaying the times correctly for your locale, and makes automatic adjustments for daylight savings time, etc etc.
Even before Tom turned off user timezone support I was not able to find anywhere in my user profile where I could configure my timezone. I'm usually pretty good with this kind of stuff, but obviously I missed it. Whereabouts in one's profile settings is it?
Posting at 0044 GOOD GOD is that the time? I should knock off and go home!
