A couple of articles on colour correction using NLE software that may be interesting...

David
A couple of very useful links - many thanks.
I am an avid user (no pun intended) of Vixen Pro but have no access to third party articles. The comment in the second URL to David Finchers 1995 DVD film 'Seven' explaning, showing and taliking over an example sounds particularly useful. So far I have been unable to locate the video but will keep trying.

Thanks

Des,

Do you know of a UK source for the Vixen Pro software?

DV.COM do some interesting stuff, though they can occassionally be a bit anal. A few NLE tweaks and colour correction can make a huge difference to the final product.

David.

I've got the Se7en special edition DVD. It's the two-disk edition with a plain (apart from the title) black cover. David Fincher is one of those directors who lavishes attention over his DVDs and this disk, like the Fight Club DVD is one of the best on the market. The whole film has been recut from original negatives and colour corrected, with new sound mixes (6.1 Dolby Digital and DTS). There are also (count 'em) four commentaries and a second disk packed with extras, complete with very interesting colour correction demonstration (they are making a very sunny day look more ominous and imposing). Highly recommended.

I got Vixen Pro from a UK supplier that I won't mention because I got a lot of problems with him, price variation and so on.

Go to the Xentrik site at: http://www.xentrik.demon.co.uk/ViXen/vixen.html
and email the London office for distributors, this will be easier that iSync in the US.

Thanks Christian for the DVD description, I can now narrow it down a bit.

Good luck David and thanks again

Des,

You can get the two disk edition of "Se7en" for the criminally cheap price of £10.99 including delivery at Play247.com
