Copyright free Trance music

I'm looking to buy copyright free music CDs that have more of a popular music feel to them. Most on the market seem to be wedding music, 'high power' corporate video music or new age easy listening.

In particular my latest client wants trance music (they suggested "something similar to Leftfield"). Their budget does not stretch to production music unfortunately.

Any suggestions? I've looked at the usual AKM, Trackline, etc.

Not of direct help..

But if the worst comes to the worst you could always look at the 'ejay' programs. www.ejay.com. They allow you to knock up unique and copyright free music very quickly and have thousands of samples.

I have Dance and Rave ejay and have put together things very quickly that sound quite professional.

Good point, given that it's trance music there's a chance I might be able to knock up something suitable, even with my rather limited musical talent.

I have one of the ejay programs, came free with my sound card, but I seem to remember the licence agreement said you were free to use the music 'for personal use'. Since this is commercial that would be a problem.

Any idea if this is just because I have the bundled version, or is this the same if I buy a copy outright?

Just checked my ejay disk - and it does say 'demo disk' on it. Presumably I need to buy the full version.

I'll check my licence tonight when I get home. If there samples aren't for commercial use the programs can import other loyalty free samples.

A quick sniff around the ejay site seems to indicated that ejay are usually happy for people to use their mixes in commercial ventures as long as ejay gets a credit Loads of people are 'selling' their MP3 on the internet, openly talking about in ejay forums with ejay administrator offering to help people in thay are accused of infringing copyright. Anyone concerned about anything particular can get it confirmed with ejay's marketing manager.
