Yeh ha... a bit of good news.
Has anyone found out what the minimum spec/ recomended O/S & graphics card is for DaVinci Resolve Lite?
I downloaded it during the week in a fit of excitement & am presently getting a 'Warning: No CUDA Acceleration Hadware detected!' message on boot up.
This is disappointing as I have a CUDA Nvidia gfx card installed.
My Spec is Mac Pro Dual 2.66Ghz, 3Gb RAM, NVidia Geforce 7300GT 256mb (CUDA driver 4.0.21) , Snow Leopard OSX 10.6.3.
I'm guessing either incompatible GFX card or too old a version of OSX. Unfortunately I don't want to update the Operating system as I run Avid MC5.0 on it & upgrading one would require upgrading the other, so if that's the case it'll have to wait.
I've had a trawl through the PDF manual but found nothing as yet.
cheers,
Paul
Just got round to installing, not working here either. Loads and starts but then just crashes on New Project :(
I got it working ok, but it wiped ALL my FCS prefs!!! VERY annoying. Also, it now asks for my decklink card, which I don't have. I got so frustrated that I deleted it. Still, I love Color (sic). D
Oh dear, sorry to hear!
PS - you need this: http://www.digitalrebellion.com/prefman/
Free, I use it all the time, backs up all your prefs, restore in seconds.
Sorry for asking. I clicked unto the web page of this product. Can somebody tell me basically what this machine does.
I understand some of the jargon. But not the true power of this machine.
Is it for editing different formats and colour correction.
It's Software to run on a Mac. It is a very advanced Colour Correction package that runs as a seperate application. Historically it has cost huge sums, so this version even though it is cutdown, is of a lot of interest.
Thank You. Plain and simple answer.
Now up & running ;)
Seems I had an older CUDA version, installed the latest from Nvidia, re-installed Resolve and now all up and working - a lot to get to grips with!
I'm using a MacPro (4.1) Quad 2.66, 6Gb RAM (triple channel) and a GT120 card (512Meg) with 10.6.8 (updated version).
PS. It wiped my FCP prefs! - used PrefMgr and all back in seconds ;)
Dave
I'd forgotten that I had the full digital rebellion package, so thanks for reminding me!!!
DaVinci also messes with any MXO that might be installed, so I had no choice but to do a complete uninstall. Shame, as I'd love to have a proper play and use the software in anger.
Further investigation and updating my OSX to 10.6.8 without resolving the 'No CUDA Acceleration Card Detected' issue has found the following list of recomended GFX cards:
GUI Cards (one graphics card is required)
nVidia GeForce GTS 120 GUI (single width)
ATI Radeon 5770 (double width)
nVidia Quadro 4000 (single width)
CUDA Processing (optional, may use one or more for acceleration)
nVidia GeForce GTX 285 CUDA Processing
nVidia Quadro FX 4800 CUDA Processing
nVidia Quadro 4000
It looks like you can instal a second card purely for DaVinci to use for colour processing.
Needless to say I have an old MacPro 1.1 which I don't believe is compatible with any of the above except the ATI Radeon 5770 unless anyone has further info.
