I finally managed to convince a friend to let me borrow his copy of edition5 to tryout on my machine with DV.now but as expected the software wouldnt recognise the card. So i put in the pinnacle firewire card and was able to capture through it but theres no way the DV.nowAV(to get analog in/outs) will work through the software.
So next was to do a whole lot of captures through Edition which worked fine. I then did a combination of DV and analog captures in fast forward(with DV.nowAV) and tried to import them(.dif) into edition, and was effortless, worked 100% (reading .dif files), I didnt think it could but upon looking at the ultra-thick manual saw that it supports the .dif file format. Edition is a bit of a learning curve to premiere but appears really good. My only problem with the standard version is theres no analog out( i like to watch edits on TV monitor) but easily get around this by going through camera outputs. Mmmmmm I wonder what premiere 7 in going to bring.........?
