Is it possible to export a sequence from the FCP Timeline directly to Streamclip without having to create a QT Movie first?

Hi
Not really. You can create a reference movie (= Not Self-contained) within FCP, then use that in MPEG Streamclip as long as you don't alter the FCP timeline renders that the ref movie depends on.

Thanks Paul. My files in FCP are Quicktime .mov files derived from from a nanoFlash which uses the Sony XDCAM codec. What would be the best QT Movie setting in order to achieve highest quality?

Should have mentioned the nano is set at 1080psf25.

Hi
Do a QT Export from your timeline, not QT Conversion. That way you are making a movie in FCP that is identical to your project's quality.

Thanks again Paul. Did do as you suggested. New to FCP so a bit hit miss and try again or another way.
