Hello
I'm editing with FCP7, where i have 6 clips in the browser which i want to multiclip edit with. I find a point in the clips so they are all in sync, make a multiclip edit, then i double click on it and i get the error message: Out of Memory.
What's going on? I've looked on forums & You Tube videos saying it's a RAM issue, but i don't think it is.
All the clips are filmed on different devices
Flip - 720p H.264, ACC
2 mov files in 1080p H.264, ACC & 1 mov file 1080p H.264, Linear PCM
2 more filmed on iphone 568x320 AAC, H.264 & the last clip filmed on a Samsung Galaxy 1080p AAC, H.264
So I've exported them all as a mov. frame size: 568x360 compression: Apple ProRess 422 (LT) using MPEG Steamclip, could that be a problem, I don't know what to do?
I've tried the long way, by putting each clip on top of each in the timeline and then editing it, but it lags and is hard to edit
Please can anyone help
Cheers
Nathan
I was trying multiclip for the first time last week and I think all the clips have to be the same format, also the out of memory flag can be quite common and I have found that it comes up more if you are using a jpeg on the timeline. To get rid of it toggle the RT playback setting from safe to unlimited and that seems to clear it.
Also having lots of icon previews can clog up the memory.
Hi
These are the only pixel-sizes that FCP supports for real-time previewing on the timeline:
