I have an 8gb memory stick, and am trying to put a 5.5gb .mov file onto it. However it states there is not enough space.
I know in reality there is not a full 8gb of storage, but surely there is enough to fit 5.5.gb on it?
Really hoping I'm not going to have to go out tomorrow morning and buy 20gb external HDD to ship this file off...

Re: File not fitting to memory stick despite ample space.
If it's FAT32 there will be a 4GB file size limit regardless of total space.

I just checked and indeed it is FAT32. is there any way around this Claire, or is it a trip to PC World in the morning?

Re: File not fitting to memory stick despite ample space.
Just format the memory stick in NTFS and you'll be able to fit the whole file on it.

Sorted, thanks Claire and Mark. Just a case of right clicking and re-formatting. :-)
