Still not enough to tempt me, for a full list of new features go to the App Store.
According to 9-5 Mac upgrades are free from previous versions of FCP.X.
DVDs and Bu-ray supported from the timeline. Decent I/O support from the off.
I'll be jumping in with 10.1 now - see if I can work with it instead of Premiere on Windows.
I need to get my finger out and see if my own MacPro (2007?) can be ramped up a bit and then see if I can add FCPX tp try without messing up FCS2
I downloaded the 30 day trial 10.0.9 a couple of months ago, it ran well side by side with FCP7 (FCS3) on my 2007 2.66 Quad with 12Gb RAM / 1Gb Radeon 5770 / 10.8.5 but you'll need to install Mavericks for 10.1 - which I did recently but then swapped back to 10.8.5 from a cloned drive just before I went to Mavericks, so I'm staying with FCP7 / 10.8.5 for the time being.
So I'd suggest you clone your drive before install Mavericks then install the FCPX 10.1 30 day trial and see what you think, you can always fall back from the clone drive if you need to.
Thanks
I'm still on 10.5.8
I have a Mac Pro 3GHz quad core with 4Gb ram.
There's a mac shop in Reading, so I can check out with them as well.
To be honest, it may be FSC3, I don't rememeber.
I need to get my self together and do some maintenance and add some internal drives as well.
My mate's Mac died last week in the middle of a big multi cam job and it's made me more aware of the machine's vulnerability.
there was some talk when FCPx came out of it "taking over" from FCP 7
The new FCP 10.1 is a simple download if you got Maverick. Make a copy of FCP-X. Is just a question of understanding the new version. There are no separate EVENTS or PROJECTS just one Project.
The new version will download all your files into one so sort out what you want to import.
