Fitting a WA Sony VCL-HG0872 lens to a Sony Z5

I've bought a Sony VCL-HG0872 72mm lens for my Z5, and the lens wont fit due the thread on lens not going to the edge of it.

Does anyone know a fix - ie some kind of adaptor, before I put it back on Ebay?

If there is a fix I don't know what it is Bill. The Sony design intent was such that you couldn't and wouldn't fit the lens - I suspect because the combo don't work well.
