Have a problem with a Sony Vaio-AR71ZU  laptop running Vista Ultimate.

Notice (Box) keeps appearing "Internet Explorer has stopped working"

Says it will look for a solution and report back. It doesn't.

Cannot get rid of it unless reboot.

Prevents installing Firefox and other browsers. Frustrating nuisance.

Any ideas please?

Tibor, you're absolutely right, my mistake. There appears to be many instances of Les's problem posted on the net going back quite a long time. Surely Microsoft must have solved it - if only by producing Windows 7 or 8. I use Firefox and Windows 7 so I have'nt experienced this problem first hand.

Re: Frustrating Internet Explorer.
Thank you both very much Tibor and Tony.. Have done as suggested.

If there are still problems I'll post again. I.E. 9 has upgraded. Brief test - looks O.K..

I haven't experienceds this before. I'd like to get Firefox but this prevents it.
