I have recently taken delivery of a new G4 533 Mhz running OS9.1 - 2 hard drives and 256mb RAM and have had installed EditDV 2.0. The program has problems controlling my SonyTRV900E camcorder insomuch as if you click stop in the capture window and then go to either fast forward or rewind the camera starts to perform the chosen task but then you cannot get any other capture window button to function. The only way out is to stop the camera using its own controls, then switch the camera off and then on again to reactivate the capture window controls. Any ideas? By the way device control is fine from within iMovie 2.
Also volume control over a Macally iVoice microphone using the sound control panel on the Mac only has two effective results, totally off or so far on that the high gain distorts the sound. Again, any ideas?
Have you checked the respective manufacturers websites for updates?

Sorry i can't help with your problem, but maybe you can advise me. I am thinking of buying the exact system that you have (G4 editDV) can you tell me is it a good system and is editDV any good ? compairing it to Screenplay or Premier on PC, does it freeze up or crash frequently ? Thanks.
Steven, I have checked the websites and had e.mails from the suppliers of EditDV & iVoice which didn't offer guaranteed solutions - only suggested reverting to earlier software versions.. My Mac dealer is pursuing the problem further as he was not happy about their suggestions. I just hoped someone out their had seen the same problems and had a genuine proven solution.
Louis, The G4 itself is great and from what I have been able so far to see, Edit DV - other than the problem I am experiencing - seems stable. Be aware that EditDV is being upgraded at present and in its new form will be called Cinestream. I am awaiting this upgrade to be delivered to me soon.
Thanks for the replies guys.
Thanks Chris, you've convinced me.
