Hi Guys
Long time no chat?
Hope everyone had a good xmas and New Year.
My business is still going very well and growing faster than i thought?
I am now having a brand new website designed and should be up and running soon.
In the mean time, I have just shot a glamour model with a photographer and would appreciate some feedback.
Cheers
xx

What do you actually think of the video itself??

Glad to see that you've got the 16:9 thing sorted. Looks so much better. The titles need to be a bit 'fresher'. That font doesn't suit the subject. You've got some really good shots in there. You're achieving hand held, what many can only get with a glidecam. But... I felt that it could have been a lot snappier. That track gives quite a few opportunities to edit to the beat, but you didn't take them. I think that if you treat that as 'a work in progress' (as Flame1 seems to do a lot here) you could end up with something exceptional. Just my 2p. :)
oops will have to watch it again as i wasnt really paying much attention to the technical aspects:D .. however for hand held it was v good, on some shots I thought you had a jib.
Thought the lighting lacked something in a few shots a bit flat perhaps?
I watched it to the end so it obviously kept my attention:D
thanks for posting it.

Thanks guys, yes it was freehand and youre right i think about the music and being a bit punchier.
It was a laugh with my tog and model friends. We had such a laugh doing it!!
xx
You've left too many poor shots in to last as long as the music. Glamour is hard, the 'tog had all the best angles leaving you to roam at all the wrong angles. There are some good shots in there but the model looks too straight or lost a lot of the time. No point doing the 'hair swirl' shot with a hat on?
Saying that , there's some cracking stuff tucked away that doesn't stand out because you haven't made it. I'd edit that down to about 40secs and then you'd have a good shoot on your hands.
Very well done! The smoothness of the movement was impressive. This video looks great.
However, IMO this needs to be MUCH MUCH shorter! Without any other content, i.e. voiceover or a "story" of any kind, this kind of thing can't hold attention for 4+ minutes, no matter how attractive the subject.
My suggestion would be to break it up with a few shots of the photographer and throw in a few real time shots as well. Too much slo-mo for too long.
Personally I think if she's trying to be a glamour model then you need to cut it down loads, lose most of the stuff where she's clothed, make a snappy, punchy film that moves fast and emphasises her 'assets' and demonstrates why she'd be good on the cover of 'zoo', 'nuts' or 'loaded'. The stuff with the bra and without, the white top and the wrap around thing looked like the shots that would give her the best chance to be offered a job. And no, I'm not being a perv, I just think that that's the realistic way things are.
Stick a few more flash cuts in, a bit of post production and a good sound track. Add a voiceover (from her??) and a title and it may well work for the purpose.
Just my opinion, of course.
We did this about six years ago and I hope it may be of interest or helpful http://www.purpleblack.co.uk/video.htm The 'model showreel' is really not much longer than a sting but I think works quite effectively.
As above Kaandaro, the font does not suit the subject and i'd make that a 40-45sec. Overall, good job!
