We have a customer interested in high quality video conferencing for identifying porcelin figures and objects around the world.

What sort of qualities, devices and internet connections should he be looking at?

http://www.tandberg.net

How high is quality and image size? image is full tv res ..... we use 28" tv's as viewing monitors
How many Frames per second? 30 ( seems to be the standard rate , you can change to 15 or video from the jack sockets on rear of unit.
What is approx cost per station? approx 10,000 + vat + tv to view image on
smallest system is called 500 and costs approx 3,500 + vat + tv to view picture on.

we also use 'picturetel' boards and 'sony vigo' cards at approx £1,000 plus pc to put cards into.

again quality pretty good over even a 10mbps lan connection, and isdn 2 is fine if you don't move the object too fast !!!!!

you really need a board which has a hardware codec , the webcam approach breaks up too quickly for a professional job to be done.
