How do I get video onto the web.

I have tried capturing a clip from Premier as a Windows Media 8 but can't transfer the clip to a website to give it an url.

I'm obviously doing it all wrong.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Cheers.

if you got a website, drop it there like any file, and send the url to the folks

eg: http://www.fergieandco.com/media/mymovie.wmv

am assuming since you have a site, you know how to use an FTP program........? if not, we can advise.

if you asking about embedding the movie in a page, need to tell what program you be creating the pages with.

Two of the web sites I use, go through the motions and give the impression that the file is being captured, but its not uploaded at all

I seem to have a free web site (Freewebs) that won't allow the uploading of a video file larger than 6mb.
I don't see any offer of web space with my TalkTalk account, and as I can't really justify paying for a web site, I seem to be stuck.

FTP Program ???

Cheers.

Your Service Provider should give you some web space or use Youtube.

yep, you could easily host it on Youtube and access it from your site - embed the video on your site
:)

FTP - File Transfer Protocol
eg coffeecup, cuteftp etc - google them
have one build into Dreamweaver too

Didn't want to take the Youtube route as I just thought I would like to share some video footage with some family and friends. I would have liked them to see the video clips via Windows Media Player.
Had a look at some FTP sites. I will wait till my grandson returns from holiday and he might manage to explain them to me. :)

Cheers.
