An associate at work not a true friend wants to pay me for filming his wedding. He only wants me to film the ceremony! His missis doen't want a camera in her face all day, they just want a record of the day done professionally but discreetly. "his mate will film the speeches" his words not mine. So basically i'm going to take two cameras one locked off on a tripod to film the vows because wait for it, the vicar doesn't want anyone moving around during the service, nobody behind where he and the b&g are. Obviously i'm going to have to edit it as well. My question is how much considering how little i will be actaually filming. I was thinking £200-£250 ????? especially if he's expecting me to trawl through loads of crappy footage. what are your thought???
What experience of wedding videos do you have?
As the person is only an associate I would be inclined to tell him that if he wants it edited properly then you need to shoot it all! That way, if you have the experience, you will be responsible for the right shots & thus save hours of frustration in the edit.
Ask him if this is a one off wedding or does he intend doing it several times in his lifetime? Therefore, do it once, do it right & pay a reasonable fee for it.

Are you sure he wants it editing, you say he only wants the ceremony filmed. There will only be two tapes anyway, perhaps that is all he wants, a contemporaneous record without any subjective editing at all.
So, after expenses, all you have to do is decide the absolute maximum you can possibly charge for a few hours work.
