When I enter "Flash video encoder" into Google I get a vast array of competing products, and a few of the sites seem a bit dubious.

Could someone please suggest an affordable yet good quality Flash encoder for video files.

Many thanks

Gary

I checked and Premiere Elements offers Flash output, and iPod and PSP as well, thanks.

For the new On2 video codec - straight from the horse's mouth:

I bought this AND the Sorenson plug-in (at something like four times the cost). Flix seems to do a nicer job but isn't batchable. Sorenson IS batchable, but just doesn't seem quite as nice or small.

OTOH, I got into Sorenson as it was by far the best compressor for (guess what) sorenson 3. The files were half the size of QT and Cleaner 5, with better quality too. I guess the codec designer is going to have the best compression algorythms for the price...

We have looked at the alternatives to Macromedia for converting videos to flash (FLV) and one we have trialed and seems excellent value is http://www.sharewareguide.net/Audio-Multimedia/Video-Tools/allok-video-to-flv-converter.html

Which can be purchased at this link - http://www.regnow.com/softsell/nph-softsell.cgi?item=13265-20&affiliate=41214&hardwareSignature=Lite-200610250811370671 – for £22.51
