IEEE1394 output problem

I have an Adaptec AHA-8945 SCSI controller which I use with the "DV Deck" software to output Digital Video to my Sony TRV7 Digital Camcorder via a "Firewire" cable.

The "DV Deck" software captures incoming video fine, no dropped frames or breakup of the signal. However, when "DV Deck" tries to output the captured file the video breaks up after a couple of seconds or the video is jerky.

I have tried downloading the latest DV Deck software but this causes application errors, so I have to use version 1.2 of the software.

In "Control Panel | System" in Windows 98 I have tried various Hard disk controller drivers. My motherboard has a "VIA Tech" controller (on an AOPEN AX59Pro motherboard with the "VIA MVP3 AGP chipset"). If I install a driver which supports UDMA 33 the hard disk transfer rate is enough to output the video (theoretically, about 6.5Mb/second) but "DV Deck" does not output anything when the "Play" button is clicked. If I use a hard disk controller driver which does not enable UDMA, "DV Deck" starts to output the video but the disk transfer rate is not sufficient and the image breaks up.

I have downloaded the latest BIOS upgrade for my computer (an AMD K6/2 400Mhz, 128Mb RAM, 3x8.4Gb IDE HDD with a 1.2Gb IDE boot drive) and the latest HDD controller driver.

Any help would be very much appreciated as this has caused a very frustrating week.
Many thanks,
John Leonard.

I have managed to solve my own problem. Basically, the Adaptec card/software appears to need a main board with the Intel chipset. I have replaced my AOpen board with the "ABit BX6" motherboard and everything worked OK first time.
