This is quoted as one of the 'must haves' in a video submitted for perusal. I've got a good idea - but tips please men, what is it, & how do you achieve it?

Absolutely no idea Arthur, but then I haven't joined yet. Been meaning to get around to it, but just been too busy right now.

Will be interested to find out what it means though.

Do they give any indication of what it refers to, such as no audio at the start of your video footage? Hence 'noise free start', or does it mean your picture should be crisp 'n' clean, with no picture noise?

Arthur,

I have not heard of this one "A noise free start" but I would guess that it means exactly that ( a blank section at the beginning of the tape). No need on a DVD of course but maybe a good idea to have a few secs at the beginning of that too but, not too much or they will think it is not working

I have started filming for my 1st attempt with a plan to enter it later this year.

See U are in my neck of the woods too

i think you have to submit vhs, so DVD comment doesn't apply

A good clean start to your to your vid, no glitches, no disturbance, no tracking bars.

Also tee the tape up before you send it in so the reviewer doesn't have to prat about. Remember you can get winding, or in built problems at the start and end of every tape purely due to manufacturing processes.

Treat the I.O.V. like a customer, they just want to press play and watch a perfect video.
