Does anyone know why microphones except for tie clip types, are about 150 to 180 mm long. Apart from containing an AA battery, the rest appears to be a handle.
They are difficult to clip on a mini DV camera, without getting in frame at the wide end, and also pick up RF from the heads.
I use a Vivanco EM216 with a minidisk, and can clip it anywhere. Frequency response is good as is sensitivity. Mounting it in a holder with one cm of space between it, and a foam wind shield, cuts out most of the wind noise.
You can`t compare £25 with those costing £250. It`s not very directional or stereo. I have recorded concerts and brass bands. The bass and treble are clear. No one pays me for what I do, so. What am I missing. Just curious.
