I had a nasty piece of mobile phone noise during a speech the other day and managed to get rid of it almost completely using the Audio Restore VST plugin in Edius - there's a short tutorial here http://www.videoproductions.com.au/html/edius-audio-noise-reduction.html
All I did was pick a point where there was no voice but a sharp peak of mobile phone noise - use that as the 'teach' section and applied to the rest of the clip - brilliant.
