I'm looking for either a 24 or 27in monitor for my MacPro to be the main monitor I'll also be connecting a second monitor (existing one) mainly using FCP, AE, C4D & Photoshop. Would ideally like an Apple display but can't justify the price tag.

Thanks

HP 'w' series monitors are very good and, whilst not cheap, they are cheaper than Apple displays. D

Is the second monitor for break out purposes or is it just to get more real estate for application windows?

Whatever way around you do things it's probably best to invest in a monitor calibrator device like One eye or Spyder, so you have a benchmark to work to when grading.

The non pro versions of said devices will put you within 10% of broadcast spec (they claim) and even if you aren't producing to that standard it's shocking how far off projects can be (in reality) when they looked fine on your system.

I agree with both Dominic and Noddydog.

I have HP LP2475s which I am very happy with and a Spyder to calibrate - and match - them.

I recently purchased an HP ZR24W - and I am very pleased with it. (£320:00 delivered from HP direct). Tony C.
