iMac 2.8Ghz intel core duo. 10.8.2
Upgraded from Snow Leopard to Mountain Lion.
Now Two Hitachi 1Tb hard drives will not mount. My WD 'MyBook' HD does however.
Error message: /Library/Filesystems/fusefs.fs/support/fusefs.kext failed
link error, check the system/kernel logs for errors or try kextutil(8)
the MacFuse system is not available (71)

These drives will mount on my also upgraded macbook pro, so doesn't appear
to be a formatting issue.
to be a formatting issue.
Trawling the forums I see a similar problem was solved by the advice to remove MacFuse and NTFS-3G.
I have little idea of how to do this.
Any advice gratefully received

Re: Mountain Lion upgrade Killed my External HD
Found solution on another forum.
Zap the MacFuse in preference pane and download and mount new NTFS-3G from
paragon for $20.
All working now
