I am about to enter the world of non-linear editing. I am not yet fully up to speed with all the kit and jargon. To keep it simple for me, I am considering Eveshams Movie Station 98.

Has anyone got first hand experience of it who can advise me of it's pros and cons?

Does anyone know of a magazine review of it?

Has anyone got a suggestion of a good all-round alternative?

I have used Casablanca, which is fantastic, but I want to have the other computer funtionality as well otherwise I would have gone for the Casablanca (I can't afford a PC and a Casablanca!).

Any comments gratefully received - Many Thanks

I can't remember anyone visitors to our messageboards commenting one way or the other about the Evesham system.

However, Computer Video reviewed the Evesham system in Sept 98. It scored highly and received a Recommended award. In the conversations I had with James Morris, the reviewer, he seemed genuinely impressed, though the price is rather daunting.

If you want to read his review, in the UK, the cost of that back issue is £2.85.

Send your cheque (payable to WV Publications) or credit card details, with your address,

To be on the safe side, call 0171-331-1000 and ask one of the good ladies whether the issue is still available. If not, they'll photocopy the article for you and charge you £2 - the transaction still has to be done by post, though.
