I am still looking into the best purchase
for compressing digital video and burning
it on to CD. Has any one any experience of
Heuris MPEG power Professional?
Has anyone any suggestions as to which I
should buy to keep the best possible quality?

Thanks

I'd keep a few things in mind:
the transition to DVD on the PC is happening at a VERY rapid rate and simple DVD drives are dropping all the time.

Why this is important is that I'd try to look at MPEG2, this is the way going forward, and gives better quality.
The professional show NAB next week is sure to have lots of annuncements re Mpeg2 software encoders etc.

I think it is time for a CV roundup review of the Mpeg2 encoders.

Yes, Yes, Yes. Let's have a review of MPEG2 gear. Software and Hardware encoders...
Anyone know of a low cost, PC hardware MPEG2 encoder??

Also, what was this C-Cube and Ulead announcement?

I don't know of anything so far that is hardware & mpeg 2. I work for a broadcast organisation and you would not belive some of the prices we have to pay for the kit !!

I'm sure some cheaper stuff is just round the corner, perhaps in six months or so.
