I am planning to buy a Dazzle DV now. Before I bought it, I want to get something cleared.

1. Is the filesize of the AVI files captured limited to 2GB using the software provided?

2. If not, when I want to encode the AVI to mpeg, will the Adobe Premier be able to read AVI files greater than 2GB?

I will be very happy if you guys can provide me more information on this card as the information provided by the official website is not enough.

Thanks in advance.

With DV.now AV, and the V1.5 drivers, under WIN 98 the capture file size limit is 4 gig. I believe that this limit is gone under WIN2K.

dpalomaki is correct, no(reasonable) capture limit with Win2K.

How about the AVI to MPEG encoding. There is no hardware encoding feature on the card, right?

So about what time ratio when I encode AVIs to MPEGs using the LIGOS software provided? For example, how much time do I needed to encode an hour AVI to MPEG-1?

Depends on your CPU and amount of Ram
