Is it possible to have some feed back regards the new and FREE Apple application  released yesterday. It looks all good and fine. As always there is a but.......... along the line.

Sounds too good to be true doesn't it?

From what I've read the new OS will leave some older apps obsolete. FCP7.0 being a likely casualty.

All the other "free" stuff comes with a NEW PURCHASE of a Mac or iOS device. They are mega-cheap anyway to be fair.

I was disappointed that we have to wait a couple more months for the new release of FCPX.

Not least because there's no news on whether it will be possible to buy an upgrade - it may be that you just have to re-buy at full price (albeit a reasonable full price).

Could one say that the new FCP-X will not work in Snow Leopard?

Several users on Creative Cow report the full FCS3 package - FCP7, DVDSP4 etc all working fine in Mavericks. I'll stick with 10.8.5 and FCS3, Mavericks doesn't support my version of Parallels!

Thanks Dave - good to know it's not as bad as I read earlier (on fcp.co forum) - others have since posted it's OK for them - that's the internet for ya!
