  • Black anodised cases machined from solid high grade aluminium.
  • High definition OLED displays.
  • 100MHz switching bandwidth – more than enough to deliver flexibility while maximising battery use.
  • An unrivalled 2mS end-to-end delay!
  • And up to 20 systems can operate together in one TV channel.

The DX receiver. True diversity and true versatility.
A true diversity receiver with analogue and AES digital outputs that’s SuperSlot™ compatible and features full encryption.
And an OLED display which pivots so that it can still be seen when the unit is lying flat or is in a bag.

Compact digital transmitter with built-in SD card.
The TX transmitter uses two AA batteries housed in an all-metal, hinged lockable compartment. It has switchable output power. And a built-in SD card reader which can be used to update the system’s firmware.

Menu driven set up. Monitoring by app.
Both transmitter and receiver have maximum clarity OLED menu driven select and click displays that make set-up and operation very simple. Brightness can be reduced or the screens can be turned off entirely (as can all the LEDs). And there’s a free downloadable app which will control the main functions on the transmitter from a phone or iPad and monitor battery levels.

Any idea how it will compare cost/quality-wise with the go-to Sennheiser G3 systems, John?

Can the receiver be camera-shoe-mounted?

Who are Audio Ltd anyway?? :D

In the UK, their products are highly thought of, and they specialise in products for TV, as opposed to theatre which has different requirements. I've got one of their ancient VHF systems somewhere, and 20 years ago, people were saying exactly the same things - quality kit and fairly expensive. It's a bit like how the US user has been seeing Lectrosonics - their products are still quite rare here, although popping up more and more often, but up to maybe three years ago, I'd never touched one for real.

Audio Ltd products on ebay, even when quite old, fetch serious money.

Superior to the G3 in every respect.

Audio Limited are the No.1 radiomics used by broadcast sound engineers and have the reputation for a good long range - better than most others.

As I understand it, they are working towards a £2.5k price per transmitter/receiver system, which is similar to their professional analogue systems.

Their cheaper "Envoy" analogue system will stay, as it's much cheaper.

But, with the new digital system, the ability to get 20 working channels in a single 8MHz TV channel - and - with a 100MHz switching window - this is better than any other system I know of - and with a minute latency of just 2ms (and thats transmitter analogue in to receiver analogue out) - amazing!

I'm guessing that there will be various mounting options for the receiver - but they were concentrating on getting the spec. right, ready for the unveiling at the NAB show.

So, price wise, the RMS 1010 Digital system comes above Sennheiser's G3 series, but below their professional 3000 series and way cheaper than Sennheiser's professional digital series.

Many thanks, John.  Very useful to "place" it in the market.  (I won't be changing my own G3 systems for on-camera use though!)
