No Audio in mpeg file

Video has no audio

Hi Guys

Got given some footage to edit in mpeg format. Plays ok in VLC media player, but no audio in premiere. G spot says codecs are installed. Anyone know how I can get audio to play in premiere? Have tried converting to avi, but still no audio in premiere.

Will ClipWrap or MPEG Streamclip help you?   Maybe find the audio?

Strange, but plays audio up to 30mts in premiere, then waveform disappears.
