No video image in export - only audio

I need help URGENTLY - please. I am busy on a project which I need this coming weekend. Last week I exported a project from Premier to VHS tape without any problems. Today I tried to export something again, and now I only have audio and no video image. I have a TV hooked up to my VCR to monitor my progress. Usually, when I start up Premier, the DV.now logo appears on the monitor before I open my project.

Capturing through Fast works fine. It is only video exporting that is a problem. Can this be software related or hardware problems? Is there any way to test this?

Any help will be appreciated, as I really need to get this program working within the next day or two at the latest.

Thanks,

Make sure you select (a tick box) export video when you export it

Thanks for trying. I can't see any tick box which says "Export Video" which needs to be marked.

Normally when Premier (6.02) starts up, the Ready light goes on on the breakout box and then the DV.now logo appears on my TV monitor. Now the light goes on, but there is no image. When I play a clip in Premier, the Rec/Play light goes on on the breakout box, but again nothing appears on the monitor, although there is sound.

While recording in Fast, I also get sound on the TV monitor, but no image, although the .DIV and .WAV files are recorded on my harddrive. In other words, there is no problem with the input, only with the output.

I am trying to make a plan on how to test the hardware.
Firstly, if I connect a digital video camera to the card via the Digital i.Link interface, should it be able to record directly from the card (bypassing the breakout box)?

Secondly, if I connect the digital video camera to the breakout box via the Digital i.Link interface, should it then be able to record?

I will have to try and borrow a digital video camera to test this, so I'm not sure how things should work.

I assume that I can also try and connect a digital video camera via the S-video connection and see if that works.

If anyone can give me an indication on what I could expect or how I can test this, I will really appreciate it.

Also some things to check outside the DV.now AV product.
Check you output cable connections.
Be sure the VCR is set for the type of video connection you are using. E.g., using a recorder that is set for a composite input while you are connected via s-video cable. Also, with some VCRs connecting a s-video input cable disables the composite video input.

As a quick test of the connections to the VCR, connect the VCR to the output of a camcorder (cables plugged into the output of the camcorder instead of the breakout box) and see if it works.

I've said it before - I'll say it again: What a great group to belong to. I thought I had tested all the obvious things, except for the TV! I tried the trick of connecting the plugs from the breakout box to my cam and when the same problem occurred (no image, only sound) I realised that I had to look for the problem somewhere else. I connected my plugs to another TV and everything worked. It seems that some problem had come up with the tuner in the TV and the channels seemed to have shifted slightly (I had my channels preset for two different VCR's and both gave the same problem on two different channels). I reset the channels and now everything is working.

Thanks for all the help. I've aged a bit since yesterday, but I trust that things will work out to have the project completed by the weekend.
