Panasonic NV-GS11EB Reset Problem!

I wonder if anyone can help with a problem I seem to be having with a camcorder which I use for personal stuff.

I have the Panasonic NV-GS11EB and every so often I turn the camera on and it makes a bleeping noise and a message is displayed which asks to push the reset button. You cannot do anything until you have pushed the reset button, so I push the button and sometimes I have to do this several times to get the camera functional. After I have done this a few times then it springs into life but then it will do it again at other times when I go to turn the camera on and there is no logic or reason for it to do this.

I have also noticed that when I try to play back some footage that the display appears that the heads need cleaning but then if the camera moves the screen clears and a full display can be seen.

This is very weird and the camera has almost become useless now because it will randomly ask to reset. Sometimes I have to take the battery out of the holder for a couple of seconds and replace it.

Does anyone else have this camcorder or is anyone familiar with the problem?

Many Thanks

Nick

I'd suggest that if you think the camera's worth it then you ring someone like Digiservice and ask them if they think they can fix it. It could be that a tape transport sensor's buggered

they charge £60 for labour plus parts and do free estimates.
