I want to add a single internal SATA port to a Vista PC with a spare PCI-Express slot, in a low-profile case. Anybody tried/heard about these: eBay item link :

At this price (£1+£2 delivery), I'm prepared to risk it! - even though it'll take a few weeks from Hong Kong. Just curious if anyone knows if they work OK?
Not heard of them , but i bought a esata card for my pc , and it works well.
What worries me is that i see no chip on that card , doesn't mean it won't work , but i would expect a chip.
I would be more tempted to buy http://www.eshopbrokers.co.uk/products/Backup-Data-Storage/Raid-Controllers/StarTech-com/StarTech-com-1-Port-eSATA--1-Port-SATA-PCI-SATA-C?prodid=48909
or
MiniPCI Express not the same as 1 x PCI-E or PCI Express mini and is unlikely to be found inside a desktop computer.
Typical use is hosting an SSD plug-in card for a net-book. Hence the lack of components on the adapter.
Badly worded descriptions don't help.
Thanks guys. I think I'll go for a "proper" card instead, as you suggest. With eBay sellers offering passive Firewire-to-USB connectors, you can't assume any of these things will work as advertised. It may not waste much money, but it can waste loads of time?
