I keep having trouble with these streams especially the ones that are full programmes, they will play for a certain time then the video freezes and shows a series of stills with normal audio. I have a 2mb connection and have set Real Player as recommended (I think) Is the trouble with me or the server?

have 1Mb, no probs. use WMP for mine. when using Real, I use Media Player Classic instead of Real, since don't like their tentacles in my system. MPC is free from sourceforge.net, IIRC

mick , what else is ruinning on the network when you are watching the stream.
sometimes it requires a bit of bandwidth to talk back to the server , and may not have enough.

real can be more problematic than windows media , though , can be better quality than windows media.

who do you connect thru ? it may be their proxy server / their connection to bbc that has the problem.

i'll see if i can read any replies tomorrow ..... i'm away for a few days.

Msn Messenger is running in the background and I use Wanadoo (now Orange) to connect. I wondered if it might be busy servers as I watched Top Gear very late last night with no problems?
