As the Library of chapter templates fails to appear in present Encore projects, will present Encore projects be affected if I perform the following?
Uninstall Encore CS5 (I understand no difference for the present CS6) - then reinstall Encore.
That is assuming the missing "Library of chapter of templates" will appear again, and be useable for existing Encore project/s.?
The present Encore projects are NOT on C: drive - where CS6 is located.

Re: REINSTALL CS6
I told you in your other thread how to get the Encore library installed in CS6. There is only the one way. Adobe in their wisdom, and infinite contempt for their customers, decline to include the library material in Premiere/Encore CS6. It is simply not on the disk they provide - older versions of Premiere came on two disks and the library was included. There is also some library material missing from Premiere, but that is another story.
Remember that you will probably not be able to open projects created in CS6 in the earlier version, CS5, if you are thinking of trying that.
As I said, this is the only way you will get it. Go to this page on the Adobe site:
Download the large file, and follow the instructions on that page exactly, and you will have your library. It would be worth your while to follow the link I gave you yesterday as well as there is some clarification of where the library files have to be copied. When you have them downloaded, save them somewhere safe - it is a big download.
There are differences between Encore CS5 and Encore CS6, apart from the library.
If you un-install Premiere/Encore CS6, you will probably have to use the Adobe Cleaner Suite before you can re-install, and that will remove everything Adobe from your system. You will also have the problem of activation. If you do wish to go through all that unnecessary hassle, make sure you de-activate Premiere before you start.
While you are at it, make sure that you shift your Adobe Cache from your C: drive to another drive on your system. Create a folder called Adobe on the drive that you want the cache to be on and direct either Encore or premiere to that location in the way that I told you in your other thread. You will still need to clean it out at intervals as it will grow with time. Do not worry about deleting something that is still needed, Premiere and Encore will both re-create anything they need.

Re: REINSTALL CS6
Let me tell you what I was told when I purchased the CS6 update please Alan.
I went to CS6 as this would be the last of Premiere Pro that could be used with, what I believe is termed, a licence.
Adobe then require a fee, per month, for the priviledge of using Premiere Pro; and updates would be continuous.
As an amateur it was unatractive to me. I would remain, always, with CS6 until this became unusable. Then seek an alternative.
Often the wish has been that Edius had been selected. The Adobe upgrade price reduction was the deciding factor.
I will try to find your other thread, Alan; view and use what you advised. I'll now select your link...
Actually I'm getting rather cheesed trying to remedy this procession of problems.
It rather suggests I should retire from video editing altogether as I don't appear to be very capable..
Anyhow, I am very grateful for all the good advice and postings I have had from so many kind people.
Thank you.

Re: REINSTALL CS6
Les, do you have a local club that maybe you could join & who might be able to give some hands on help! I realise there are various difficulties but it would be a shame if you had to give up something that you obviously enjoy.

Re: REINSTALL CS6
Les,
it really is not at all difficult.
Steps:
1. Download the library content file from the Adobe site. It is a zip file called EncoreContent_en-US.zip.
2. Extract the zip file. If you have WinZip on your system use that. If not extract it using Windows like this:
(a) R click on the zip file icon, click on "Open with Windows Explorer" in the menu which appears.
(b) Drag the folder which is created (called en-US) onto your desktop.
3. Inside the en-US folder you will find a set of folders which are the library and templates. Copy the Library, Main, Styles, Support and Template folders from inside the en-US folder to the appropriate location, which is:
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Encore CS6\
You will then have, among all the other files and folders in the \Adobe Encore CS6 folder:
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Encore CS6\Library\
and inside this there will be
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Encore CS6\Library\Corporate
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Encore CS6\Library\Education
...and so on for all of the folders (Entertainment, General, Government, Sports, Technology, Travel, Weddings).
If you then open Encore CS6 you will find that you have menu, button, etc., templates in abundance.

Re: REINSTALL CS6
Thank you Alan for that precise information. I shall try that later today.
Barry; If there was anything in my area that dealt with video I would have joined long ago.
There is a photography club. That is mainly for stills and competitions.
There are no local night classes that deal with video, only other branches of computer training.
