Hi. Can any one please advise.  I have video and audio on various timelines of a edit that I'm doing right now. But I have to add video and it's audio at the beginning. How can I lock altogether the various pieces on the timelines so that I can place the footage at the front by moving ALL the pieces on the timelines together.  I have footage on a top timeline that is placed in the right place and I don't want to disturb them.  Thank you.  I am using Vegas Pro 11.

Find the Auto Ripple icon on the top toolbar and click it on. Click on the little down arrow to the right of it and select "all tracks, markers and regions". Selact the first clip/event on the timeline and drag to the right.
Make sure you switch auto ripple off afterwards as it can cause havoc if left on.

Hmmm....

Our friend only wants to move Events other than Track 1. So not "ALL" Tracks.

Not a very helpful  comment from Grazie.

Dugi's suggestion is correct. What he did not mentioned was the need to drag Track 1 back to the correct  position.

Tracks have Events. You don't drag Tracks. One can move Tracks Vertically, but NOT horizontally. A Track is NOT an Event. It is the Event, and the Event "holds" a reference/signpost to the Media.  The "Effect ALL Tracks" Command is a Control that Effects all the Vertically stacked Tracks Events. I understood, and still do, that our friend didn't want to move the Events on the Uppermost Track. Subsequently using "All" would affect all the Events on ALL the vertically stacked Tracks from the Cursor downstream.

Cheers
