Seem to get a spam 'ghost' posting several times a week. Subject heading appears in the 'Recent Posts' list but not in any of the categories. There's one there at the moment entitled 'Does David Icke Blame Heel Lifts'.

I opened the first one a couple of weeks ago and there was a load of sales blurb, not bothered opening any since.

I've just flagged it for the moderators to deal with.

I've flagged several of them for moderation recently, they are becoming a nuisance.

Actually the title of this last one 'Does David Icke Blame Heel Lifts' is quite plausible. wink

Hi
Thanks.
The mods team get to them as fast as we spot them.
Plausable or not they seem to be robotically posted, so we zap them regardless.

I second what Paul says

Many spam posts are also zapped before members see them, however it's pot luck as we can't supply 24/7 cover

Posts added to existing threads are often harder to spot, members flagging these spam posts is very helpful

Please ignore the spam and please don't interact with the posts or their links

Cheers

Thanks to Paul and John for all their work - we don't see the half of it so it's very easy to forget that it goes on at all until it all goes pear shaped big time.
I wasn.t sure if it was just me getting the posts by some malware / virus backdoor thing so I'm doubly grateful to know that it wasn't just me.
Thanks again

The Behringer manufacturer forum now get 300+ spam posts every day, and have a full time member of staff tasked to dealing with keeping the forum running - the more visible a forum is on Google, the  more spambots you attract, and it seems they're now very good at reading the captcha images - probably better than me!

Hence my suggestion of a 'technical test' in another thread. It could be something like "In a camera, what has to be set correctly for a sharp image?" - an obvious answer for the 100% of people who have used a camera at one time or another but beyond the capability of an automated bot.

Ray, does this mean I wouldn't get to be a member of this forum smiley
