Hi folks,
I'm currently a beta tester for NubaTV, a new channel broadcasting over the Internet in High Definition.
The quality of the streaming is amazing but they said they will improve it even further.
If you want to help the NubaTV team by testing their product please go to http://www.nubatv.com and register. It's all free :D
Enjoy!

I don't want to be too negative because the nubatv stuff is probably the best streaming video (and very good audio!) i've seen so far but it's not high definition.
definitely worth a look though!
[EDIT]
Ok, i just fired it up with the quality set to max (of the 3 levels - i was using lowest before) on our 3Mbps connection at work and it is amazing!
Still not good enough to be classed as high def, but i'd be quite happy to sit down and watch a film or a tv prog in that sort of quality, and with almost no buffering delay (under 20 seconds) i am loving this technology!
Something that you may notice is that while streaming the client is uploading data. Quite a lot of it too; much more than you'd expect for hashing or checksum. The only reason i can think of for this is that it uses some kind of p2p network - quite how you do that for streaming is very much beyond me and i'm even more impressed if that's what they're doing! :D :D :D
mark.
[/EDIT]
I've just been over to Nubatv to have a look. Very impressive. By far the best streaming I've seen even at the greater then 650k res its good enough to watch. At the "hi res" wow.
I've seen the future and I like it!

Ok people, it's time for another test. Cable users first, DSL Pro users will be next.
Just logon to your account and you should see the details on what to do.
Awaiting for your comments...

NICE! and now i can compare the NubaTV stream with the original WMVHD source... excellent stuff!
i've only had a quick look at the DSL Pro version for the moment, and my connection at home is technically on 1Mb so it was a bit stuttery. I'll try it at work later today - this is going to be good! how long before they start charging though...?
mark.

Hi Vincent,
I just came from your site and discovered a simple but important item that may help others see your streaming clips a lot better.
First, the Coral Reef clip was always jerky and would freeze a little. I downloaded it months ago and it was not smooth all the way through.
The Pink Floyd clip and all the rest were slightly out of focus as well…until I noticed that the player defaults (at least on my computer) to full screen.
I right clicked on the video and choose 100% and it was then hi-def quality, plus, the full 16:9 screen was visible, they all were! The clip starts in full screen but the display is covering up the sides, making it look like a 4:3 display, but it’s not. It’s full screen 16:9 but with a 4:3 overlay. You can see what I mean if you start the Star Wars clip and then drag the lower right corner to stretch it out sideways all the way across computer monitor.
