I have been passed about 30 u-matic tapes relating to our town centre. Naturally I don't have anything to view them by and from there to get to a PC for editing and further reproduction. Any advice on this one please.

Thanks for the quick reply. Naturally I know what is required is a U-matic player. I'm in Wiltshire so I need to find someone who can help with a player in the first instance. Pete.

Can't help with 'viewing' giving distance between us.
If you can't find solution a friend of mine may have a local contact with equipment.
If you want to convert the media to DVD I can do that for you.
Give me specific requirements (when you know) and I can give price.

Thanks Dave. I will see what crops up regarding viewing locally, or I may come back for a contact from you. Then the owners must decide what they want converting and from there get a price for doing what they want. Thank for replying. Pete

Hi
I've got a low-band U-Matic player - based between Bristol and Bath.
Its in use at the moment and I'm busy with another job, but if your deadlines aren't too short-term I may be able to help.

Likewise I have professional U-matic equipment too and can convert to DV, DVCAM or mini-DV. If all fails give me a call. :)

Thank you for drawing attention my company Z Cheema. We still have a couple of U-matics which are used a couple of times a month.

Peter would better off buying one from a dealer with a guarantee for a couple of hundred pounds and then selling it after he's used it. Beware of buying untested because they are not worth repairing generally.
