I've seen it posted on various places on the net that using different Mini-DV tapes is no longer a problem.
Apparently Panasonic blame Sony for using a different lubricant to "everyone else" in the first place.
Sony switched to using the same lubricant as all the other manufacturers several months (possibly as long as a year) ago.
Therefore ALL new tapes in circulation should now be using the same lubricant.
