When I switch my computer on I get an offer from Microsoft for a free upgrade from my Windows 7 to Windows 10.

Should I go for it or just stick with 7.  ??

Cheers

Hi Robert, there is a thread on windows10 in the chatter section. Maybe worth reading before doing anything.

Yes I agree, but I keep getting those annoying prompts about '10' each time I boot up.

There is a little program called GWX Control Panel that will disable Windows Nagware

Re: Windows 10 ??

Looking through the specs for Edius 8, I noticed the following :- " In Windows 10 the Intel Graphic card which powers Quick Sync uses recent Intel drivers. They do not work with older versions of EDIUS and you cannot backdate to a version that will work; however they work perfectly with EDIUS 8". I wonder how many other editing programmes are made obsolete by the <free upgrade> to Windows 10 - It could cost you a not inconsiderable amount of time / money to get your video editing working like it used to, particularly if Intel Quick Sync is used for encoding.

I am happy with windows 7 and Premiere CS6.  Everything works.  No point in taking chances with windows 10.  I here it has problems with usb drives.
