So, whenever you have time away from your Mac and editing, what is there sitting on your book shelf that just makes you smile with the promise of a good and valuable reading?
What are the books, both about FC and editing in general, that would make your best-of-the-best list?
Amazingly there's not a single thread on books - which to buy, which not to buy, the good ones, and the bad ones - in this forum. Not any more!
The only books I have read on editing are Edward Dmytryk's On Film Editing and Karel Reisz's The Technique of Film Editing; the first I think is excellent, the second a little outdated with good bits of theory.
I'm buying the Apple Tutorial Series (FCP, FCP adv) which looks pretty good, good reviews all around. But with books on montage (e.g. In the blink of an eye, Final Cut: conversations with film editors, The eye is quicker) I'm a little lost, as there are so many, and much hype.
Hence the great idea of starting this thread :D , both as an exchange of opinions, and as a guide to buyers everywhere.
So start your lists!
