I have just noticed that the keyboard on a PC I use daily at home is dated 1985. the PC is newer, but the keyboard is an original IBM PC clackety-clack one (with a big 5-pin DIN plug).

Any advance (or retard) on that?

That's nothing - I still have microphones from the 60's - and - they are still being manufactured if you want a new one.

Ok it's not strictly a piece of video equipment but my old Vivitar 385 flashgun has been going strong since I bought it in the early 1980's.

On the video front at work we've got Panasonic M5s which are still working away after about 12 years (maybe more - we've had them so long I can't remember when we got them).

I was actually thinking of computing kit, but I guess including video kit is a richer seam (and not surprising, considering the nature of this place!)

My wife still has her ten-year-old laptop with a "massive" 20MB (nb: MB ~not~ GB) hard drive.

Not even enough memory to load Windows.

We are still using an Electrolux fridge purchased circa 1967. Does that count? Still works perfectly, fingers crossed.

I've got a Waltham 14" black & white TV that I use as an extra monitor. I can't remember the exact year I got it, but I originally bought it to go with my ZX81, which had just come out. Can anyone remember what year that was?

Late 70s? My guess would be 1978.

My My! aren`t you lot young.

Me. Circa 1941. as well as an Amstrad television, Model number CTV 2210, must be at least 20 years old, not the one in the lounge I hasten to add.

While I was window cleaning this morning, it suddenly occurred to me that my bicycle which I use for work is quite old. It's made by 'Rudge' and dates back to somewhere between 1946-56. I use it 'cos it's comfortable to carry my ladder with and less likely to be nicked by kids.

It looks a bit like this one:
(No that's not Tracey!)

Chirpy,

I remember a little rhyme from my schooldays:-

Buy a Raleigh,
Buy a wreck,
Buy a Rudge and break your neck.

Dave,

That only happens if I get my ladder caught in the spokes.

If we're off-video on this one, I still use the plumbing tools that my uncle John left me when he died 20 years ago. I date from 1945 and the tools from about 1890. The pocket watch that my dad left me was originally his great uncle's and dated from around 1840, but that went in the burglary a few years ago. The watch was still working then.
