the adventurous

I do love seeing other wedding films, good or bad. And when I see a good one I get to thinking mine are a bit 'straight' and predictable somehow, and I begin to worry that I'm not adventurous enough. But heading out along the adventurous road is dangerous on such a one-off accession, which is why I admire the films that I see that have taken this route. It's always the brave that lead us all.

I've just seen a wedding DVD that was so plodding. Just like life with all the boring bits left in. As the groom says - as long as Ben Hur and quite devoid of any imagination. The shooter's gift must be in exposure setting or something - he simply doesn't have the eye to compose. A bit like the shots of us when I hand my stills camera to a stranger - all that ceiling included and we're cut off at the knees.

i love trying out new things. i think if you try out different things you will go far and get noticed more. thats what i think anyway.

once thing i tried recently which i was really proud of was i played the video of the B&G having there photos taken in normal speed first of all. it was a close up shot of them both. then as the groom turned his head and looked at the bride with a massive smile on his face i used a flash transition and changed from colour to black and white and then i slowed the video by 50%. i think it looked really good.
